The right choice depends on your outages, evening use and budget.
| Grid-tied | Hybrid + battery | |
|---|---|---|
| Works during a power outage | No (shuts down for safety) | Yes, for the loads you choose |
| Lowers daytime electricity bill | Yes | Yes |
| Uses solar energy at night | No | Yes, from stored battery energy |
| Upfront cost | Lower | Higher (batteries + hybrid inverter) |
| Needs backup-load planning | No | Yes — essential loads, kW and hours |
| Best for | Mostly daytime use, stable grid | Frequent outages or evening use |
A grid-tied system works together with the utility grid and reduces your bill while the sun is up; it normally shuts down during a grid outage for safety. A hybrid system adds batteries and a hybrid inverter so selected loads can keep running during outages and solar energy can be stored for the evening. Hybrid systems cost more and need careful load planning.
It depends on your electricity rate, how much power you use in the daytime, your roof, and the system size. Our calculator gives a preliminary estimate only. Bills include fixed charges and taxes that solar cannot offset, so we do not assume your full bill disappears. Your final figures come after a site assessment.
No. It is a preliminary budgetary estimate. A formal proposal is prepared by our engineers after a site assessment, and only becomes a commercial offer when approved in writing by Imee Solar.
Not necessarily. If you mainly want to cut your daytime electricity bill, grid-tied is usually the simplest option. Batteries make sense if you have frequent outages or want to use stored solar energy at night. We size batteries from your essential loads and backup hours, not from your bill alone.
We save your details securely, email you an acknowledgement if you provided an email address, and a team member contacts you to confirm your needs and schedule a site assessment. If email is not available we still keep your inquiry and will reach you by phone.
